Driving to Messe Essen
Messe Essen is centrally located in the south of the city and is easy to reach via the A52 (Essen-Rüttenscheid exit) as well as the A40. From our apartments you'll be there in around ten minutes. A tip from experience: on big trade fair days such as SPIEL or E-world, traffic around Norbertstraße builds up quickly – allow a 15-minute buffer in the morning and you'll begin the day calmly.

Parking right by the trade fair grounds
There are several paid car parks (P1 to P4) around Messe Essen and the neighbouring Grugahalle. At peak times, however, the spaces close to the halls fill up early. If you want to be on the safe side, either arrive early or leave your car with us and cover the last few minutes by underground – the U11 line takes you straight to the trade fair entrance. Several of our apartments come with their own parking space or an underground parking spot; simply look out for the parking note when booking.
Without a car: arriving by train and public transport
From Essen Hauptbahnhof you can reach the trade fair in just a few minutes on the U11 towards Messe/Gruga. Our apartment at Opernplatz is even just a two-minute walk from the main station – ideal if you're arriving by ICE and don't need a car at all. You can easily buy a local transport ticket through the VRR app.
A relaxed trade fair day begins the evening before
The best tip last: a stress-free trade fair day doesn't start in the morning, but on arrival. With self-check-in via keypad lock you can arrive with us around the clock – whether your train was delayed or rush-hour traffic held you up. The next morning you simply make breakfast in your own kitchen instead of waiting in a crowded hotel restaurant. That way you head into your trade fair day rested and on time.
