If you like things a little more curious: the Aquarius Wassermuseum is housed in a former water tower and vividly explains why water was, and still is, so important for the region. Nearby, on the Kassenberg, the Camera Obscura awaits inquisitive visitors – one of the largest walk-in pinhole cameras in the world, projecting a live image of the surroundings onto the wall of a darkened room. The two outings combine well and are a rewarding destination even on a rainy afternoon.
